Dartmouth Caring is a small charitable organisation who care
for the residents in Dartmouth.
What this means is, a few kind individuals living
in or around the town give up their spare time to
carry out a multitude of tasks to help others in the
town.
Just a few of the tasks Dartmouth Caring carry out are:
Befriending
Due to various circumstances there are many older
people living in Dartmouth who live alone. Dartmouth
Caring will literally pop round to them and keep them
company, just so that they know they are not alone
and always have somebody to speak to.
Shopping
For those in the area that cannot for whatever reason get
out of their homes to go shopping, or find it difficult to
go to the shops, Dartmouth Caring will do their shopping for
them, or, alternatively, take them shopping.
Gardening
They will help people keep on top of their gardens for those
who find it difficult to do so themselves, making sure that
the individual can enjoy their gardens.
Hospital Travel
They will pick up patients in need and take them to the
local hospitals. In extreme cases they will take the
patients to various other places.
Luncheon Club
They provide a luncheon club every week where people
can get together, have a chat and a meal. Bear in
mind that these occasions are sometimes the only social
contact some people have, so it is a very important
aspect.
Much much more....
