Dr A Eynon-Lewis
People often ask me why I don't hold surgeries on a
Wednesday or Thursday anymore, what do I do? The answer
to that is on these days I work for the Peninsula
Deanery at Plymouth. The deanery is responsible for
ensuring that young doctors in Devon and Cornwall are
adequately trained and safe. It also offers educational
support to established GPs helping them keep up to date.
My main responsibility is for doctors in training for
General Practice. It is enjoyable and challenging, and
keeps me on my toes!! I think that this has a positive
influence on the practice and some of my skills I use in
teaching have been useful in staff training and medical
meetings.
So now you know what I do on my Wednesdays and
Thursdays!
